Stonewell waste

Come let me tell you a tale of the Stonewall Waste. As you travel over these mountains and reach the mountains heading towards the coast you enter an odd forest. First you notice that magic fills the air, and that the forest floor is made of sand, next you notice that there are no birds in the trees. Then you notice that the trees are in fact not wood, they are stone. As you continue through this stone forest you may hear sounds, clanking of swords, shouts, grunts and sounds of magic flying by. Finally after two days you come to the edge of the stone trees, only to come out looking over a sea of sand. Along the edge of the where the forest and sea sand meet is a darken line as if from a huge blast of magic. If you choice to continue to travel to the coast you will spend two nights of listening to wailing, and sobbing filling the air. Now you may ask why the sounds why the frozen forest of stone only to give way to a waste of sand. It is said that many many many generations ago, before the breaking of Uskaria two powerful mages met here to battle. One side said that the one had brought dishonor on the other by betraying their lover. While the other side said that it was the other that betrayed them by attempting to kill their son. Neither would back down or sit down to talk. Instead they had an all out battle that lasted days, both physical weapons and magic filling the air. Finally tired and desperate to win each side pulled up their most powerful spells. The edge of the stone forest is where they met. One side blasting the forest into sand, while the other side turned everything to stone. The blast killing both mages, leaving their wailing partners and families behind.
