The Shifter Decade war

The Shifter Decade war The shifter decade war that was on Owhua. This conflict was between two shifter towns, Meeklake and Willowrange. While there were active military attacks for only 10 years the conflict lasted for almost 200 hundred years. There was full-on fighting for the first five years then a tense, tricky, weak, cease-fire. Then after 195 years, an attack started full out fighting again for five more years. Now if you asked most shifters in each of the two towns what had caused the war most would not know what it was about. Historians have looked and found that it was started because a merchant shifter broke a contract he had with the other town. When confronted he denied it and said it was the other town that broke the contract. The legal route was tried but one town, unsure which, attacked the other starting the war. About half of the men from both towns were killed which was one of the causes of the cease-fire.
When the fighting started again the military leader/governor of Meeklake was Lady Serenity along with her second in command Regent Callides. Lady Serenity and Regent Callides were found at the lead of each of the battles that they were in, however, after five years of conflict they were eager to finish it and help both towns recover. Lady Serenity sent several epistles none of which read. Finally, Lady Serenity and her second in command Regent Callides snuck into the other commander's home. They found out there that they found the corrupt commander was holding the Willowrange’s governor, Alvise Saccone, hostage and was bloodthirsty, even though all were battle weary. Lady Serenity and Regent Callides saved the other governor. They worked out a plan to stop the corrupt commander. It was quick, and they were helped by Willowrange’s own warriors. Once the commander was taken care of, both Lady Serenity and Alvise Saccone sat down and created a treaty that ended the conflict and brought peace back to their lands. To this day Lady Serenity is highly regarded in both towns.
