The squishy squared hare

On the continent of Nucrana, there are a few different types of hares, small usually cute fluffy long-eared creatures. However, there is one that many consider a monster, a mistake of nature. This is the squishy squared hare. It is like most hares. They are about ten pounds, the soft round body’s with four legs, the hind legs build for hoping while the front legs are straight and have little claws for digging their burrows. They have a small heads and are covered in soft fur. Their ears are short and large for their size rounded fur less squares on top of their heads. Their noses are also larger than normal and have a square shape. They come in different shades of brown and gray, however, their ears and nose are always a soft pink. They have dark small eyes. They live in the forest all over Nucrana the only place they are not found is the Kamlilta Tip mountains. These hares like to be in the undergrowth of the forest burrowing in the soft dirt around the trees. They eat mostly vegetation and bark from the trees. They are said to mate for life and have at least two litters of three to four babies each year. The babies do not have oversized squishy noses and ears until they are about a year old. It starts with the fur falling out and the ears growing quickly into a more square shape. The nose also starts to change and become more puffy, uneven, and more of a distinct square shape. The experts are not sure what causes this as even the ones that have been born away from their natural habitat have this happen.
Many find the squishy squared hare monstrous to look at, while others feel that it is the cause of a disease called squared gigantism.
