Tisthon

Tisthon is an island that is northeast of the island Slymark that is only accessible four months of the year. Two in the spring and two in the fall harvest time. While Slymark is difficult to get to all thought out the year there is no one living on the heavy jungled island. However Tisthon is populated by shifters, elves and halves and have their own government.
After an unnamed explorer found Tishon it continued to remained uninhabited for a long time. Especially once it was observed that one could only reach the island for a short amount of time each year. Until a small shifter family were shipwrecked on it’s shores. Because they were shipwrecked right at the end of spring they couldn’t get out until fall. Once they were able to get out they only left to invite several other families to come live with them. They had discovered that the island had many things to offer.
First they found that there were several rare medical plants on the island in abundance. They found the mountain range had minerals that they could trade. The land was also very fertile and could sustain many crops. It took a few years but trade routes are now firmly established.
In the spring most of the trade is minerals and finished goods that had been gathered during the winter. In the fall the medical herbs, plants along with some finished goods are traded.
At first those that came to Tisthon island were friends and family of the original ones that were shipwrecked. Word though abounded through the artist and smiths circles that Tisthon was a wonderful place for those that didn’t mind the isolation of eight months of the year.
There are a few visitors that come to Tisthon, though usually those that want peace and quite or artists for a change or inspiration.
