Government
The people of Geitenstad are part of the Zomerveld Republic and as such pay their dues to the capital city of Rozentuin. Officials from the western lands make frequent trips to collect taxation from the farmers and herders that live on the land; in trade, The Thorns claim a small portion of land for their protective services. Two noble families also live here and oversee the two largest fields that stretch across a majority of the land; these two family's work in harmony together to create a peaceful and lucrative workforce for the people of Geitenstad.
Defences
The land itself rarely sees any form of attack and, as such, is kept open almost entirely from the north aside from the small forts that The Thorns occupy. With the Thorn Forts to the expansive fields in the north, the river to the south, and the natural defenses of the Bloom Spears to the east, the town has an almost perfect natural defense.
Industry & Trade
The township itself stays afloat primarily on two resources: the wheat it exports to higher populated areas in the Zomerveld, and the horn industry that many Minotaurs and Tiefling families depends on in the largest cities. Many designers and traders seek out the bull, goat, and ram horns of Geitenstad as the beasts raised in these fields are notorious for their large and healthy horns.
Infrastructure
The land itself remains heavily untouched by the settlement itself, as rather than removing the natural resources of the land the people have learned to integrate it into their space. Watermills stretch across the river that lies to the direct south of Geitenstad to assist with the bread that is created from the wheat fields.
Assets
Small caravans consistently drive through these lands on at any given time, carrying anything from baubles to home-cooked meals to jewels from the Bloomspears. However, if you're not a townsfolk the more interesting places to shop can be quite difficult to be seen.
Horncarver's Hearth: Permanent residence for one of the Bloom Spear goliaths, herded from the mountain north of Vatirbron. This building houses a great craftsworker. People of Geitenstad know this business well as many come to Horncarver for trading in livestock and their goods. This can come in many different forms: meat, fur, horns, and bones. Whatever you need from a beast of burden, this shop is here to supply. They are most known for their Diregoats, which come down but once a year. Many northerners send their bidders every winter to lay claim to these creatures, resulting in bidding wars and spectacles that have grown the Hearth's popularity amongst the rural folk in recent years.
Maril's Diner: A dwarven bakery that excels in the making of bread. One of the larger buildings in the town and a constant focal point for the real estate battles the people have, as many of them attempt to make their homes nearby. Besides the hospitality of the owner and their family, this establishment is also the only refuge to the scent that wafts throughout all of Geitenstad. Open doors, good people, and community is what Maril and her family welcome all travelers to when they come to her home.

Guilds and Factions
The trading hub of Geitenstad has gathered the attention of the greater Zomerveld people; however, due to the smell and lack of entertainment, many people do not end up staying in this town for too long, which has led to most organizations that set up root here to eventually abandon it. The only major organization to consistently return to this area are members of the Salte Trading Company: individuals whose primary focus is feeding the people of the world. They do dealings with both aspects of the society to boost trade to farther reaches of the continent.
History
The settlement as a whole has been around for a little over two generations. Once a primarily dwarven land that slowly began to pick up odds and ends from surrounding villages, this township has seen very little friction. The town was originally created by dwarven miners from Vatirbron that wanted to spend their days in the sun rather than deep within the mines. This settlement started as one farm that quickly blossomed into a dozen or so more over the span of two decades.
Soon after, the people of Zomerveld took interest and, with proper negotiations, began to send settlers to live on the land. The dwarves of Vatirbron felt that holding onto land that was not within a mountain went against their system of structure and belief. The dwarves who had left to start this town felt no anger or rage for being 'claimed' by a new territory; instead, they considered it a way to expand trade with both realms. Presently, many of the dwarven miners happily spend their days in the hot sun.

Architecture
Much of the structure is simple in Geitenstad: wooden homes and dirt paths line the streets. The only stone area of note is the center of town where many of the caravan's like to set up shop and trade. The town itself sees more footfalls from people coming from outside then those within so the primarily decorated and cleaned up areas seem to be around the center structures of trade.
Geography
Geitenstad sits just west of the Berron Lake, which flows into The Echt: a narrow stream that cuts throughout the town itself. The town itself relies heavily on the river itself for much of its power; because of this the people revere the river and keep it's flow pure. To the north of the river houses the many different wheat fields that make up a majority of the town's land itself.
Natural Resources
Wheat fields and herded livestock, the most popular being goats, sheep, and bulls.
