Elus

Elus is the hidden village of the shadowwalkers, which can only be entered through a magical portal only shadowwalker mages can summon. This village exists for many centuries since the liberation of the shadowwalkers. As people with pure magic, skin and blood, they created it to escape and hide from witch hunters, slavers, anti-mages, temple knights and many more they don't trust.
The village itself is like an ordinary village, only that the villagers there don't grow or harvest food recourses since shadowwalkers don't eat and there are no places to sleep and no beds either since they don't sleep either. Shadowwalkers that don't possess a lot of magic powers just live their life peacefully and have ordinary jobs, like tailors, smiths, carpenters and so forth. Others spend most of their lives in the Arcane University where the best of mages can practise their skills to the fullest.

Government

Elus has a mayor for the village and an archmage for the Arcane University that is close to the village. Both of them keep each other up to date to make sure everything goes fine.

Industry & Trade

Shadowwalkers don't trade with others that don't live in Elus. However, the mages in Elus make sure they don't have to and can hop into different universes, for example a parallel universe where they can trade with all the Centurians who are friendly towards them. Staying in the parallel universe itself can be dangerous since merging together can cause a lot of chaos after a while which should be avoided as good as possible.

History

Before the shadowwalkers gained their freedom by fighting back, they lived as slaves in noble houses of the Eastern Continent and the Gnoll fortresses. But once they had enough magical power that was infused in their blood by the gnoll mages, centuries after centuries, they fought against the nobles and the gnolls and won the battle. They first escaped by crossing the border and then with their magic powers combined, they created a portal where they could hide. At first they ended up in a forest with no other people but themselves, but after many years of collaboration and teamwork, they managed to make this new place their own hometown.
