Lannasbor
Lannasbor sits at the confluence of the two main arms of the River Durran and on the border between the Kingdom of Mor and the Moran Duchy. Protected on two sides by the river it was originally founded by the Duchy but has since the Treaty of Durranmouth been within the borders of the Kingdom.
Though many towns are larger and more splendid, Lannasbor is not a town with a thriving market, but a thriving market with a small town (though in truth the size is more that of a large village) to support it.
Unlike the comparative metropolises of Kingsholm, Morton and Durranmouth, Lannasbor does not serve as the base for fixed merchant houses but is rather the trading point where the river merchants of the Durran basin meet to trade - a handy upstream place, accessible to the smaller sea going vessels for transfer of goods from vessel to vessel. As such most of the trading is done from the extensive quaysides though the market square thrives on the higher value goods, retail selling and the consolidation of produce into quantities sufficient to attract the attention of specialist merchants and traders. And the goods? Most things can be bought and sold at Lannasbor, though discression may be called for for certain more "specialist" goods. The town will not countenance illegal trade within its boundaries but turns a blind eye to discrete business between boats claiming that the town's boundary ends at the quayside for the Treaty of Durranmouth makes the river itself neutral.

Defences
The town sits in the angle between the two main branches of the Durran and these provide a substantial part of its defences. The third side is defended by bank and wall but these lands are generally peacable and even when not the value of Lannasbor to both Kingdom and Duchy is such that it is in some ways best described as defended by its markey place.
Guilds and Factions
The big split is between town and river. The latter is mainly under the control of the The Flowfarers; the former under the Berman.
