2024 Summer Camp Homework

Week 1

Assignment 1

Consider what kind of changes would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
The only changes I'll be making to the world is to add characters, settings, and context for the rest of the books in my Angelic Blood Chronicles. I may add information for a future webnovel, as well.

Assignment 2

Based on this, decide how many prompts you'll go for during Summer Camp.
I'm only going to be looking to complete the minimum 8 prompts because I don't have much to add at this point.

Assignment 3

Get your categories and tags organized!
I believe my categories and tags are well organized for what I need at the moment.

Assignment 4

Take a look at your meta, primer, and any other high-level document and update it according to the current state of your world.
Like my tags and categories, this is also currently sufficient for my needs.

Week 2

Assignment 1

Consider what kinds of refuge would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
I believe everyone needs a safe place, including all my characters. Thinking of their homes and familiar locations would fit this theme.

Assignment 2

Find a community—whether that’s our Discord server, Facebook Group, your RPG or friend group, or something else.
I have no interest in doing this.

Assignment 3

Find ways to improve styling and layout in your world!
I believe my world is about as good as it's going to get at this point.

Assignment 4

If you’re a CSS wizard, maybe take the time now to give it a polish!
I am not and it looks very complicated to learn.

Week 3

Assignment 1

Consider what kind of beliefs would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
My world is built on a modified Christian mythology that finds ways to make it the true story of how the world works, and how certain versions of paranormal came to be.

Assignment 2

Create a bank of inspirations! Quotes, music, description of experiences and shower thoughts, etc.
I have a physical notebook that I keep such things in so I can easily flip through it when I need to.

Assignment 3

Find art and pictures that inspire you, and grab a map if you don't have one (and need one).
A lot of the art I use is actually historical religious art.

Assignment 4

Check your inspirations again. Are they still relevant? Can you find any that better represent the current state of your project?
Everything looks good so far, but I won't stop myself from stumbling across new things, too.

Week 4

Assignment 1

Consider what kind of decay would fit in with your world's themes, genre, and other foundational points.
I'm not using any themes of decay in the upcoming books I'm working on, so I don't believe this matters at the moment.

Assignment 2

If you like special tea when you write, stock up for a month. Tidy your office, make a “do not disturb” sign, and think about any other last-minute strategies to optimize your writing space and time!
I usually write at night so no one disturbs me, and the coffee has been stockpiled!

Assignment 3

Review your world homepage to hook potential readers!
I'm happy with it at the moment.

Assignment 4

Take a look at your author profile and pillar articles on your world and polish them!
I actually just did this recently.

Simple and to the point. I like it. Good luck in the summercamp this year :)
