Abyssal Echoes Requiem
Abyssal Echoes Requiem
5th-level necromancy
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a black opal worth at least 50 gp, which the spell consumes)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
This spell conjures forth the mournful echoes from the abyss, a realm where spirits linger in eternal sorrow. When you cast this spell, select up to six creatures within range. Each chosen creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or become ensnared by the haunting requiem.
Affected targets are wrapped in ghostly echoes, causing them to relive their deepest regrets and fears. While under the influence of the spell, a creature takes 2d8 psychic damage at the start of each of its turns. Additionally, the creature must make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of its turns. On a failed save, it is paralyzed with despair until the end of its next turn, unable to move or speak, as it is lost in the abyssal lament.
Furthermore, if a target is reduced to 0 hit points while under this spell, it doesn't die immediately. Instead, it remains in a catatonic state, trapped between life and death, for the spell's duration or until it receives healing. If the spell ends while a creature is in this state, it dies instantly.
As an action on your turn, you can move the requiem to new targets within range, provided you can see them, transferring the effects to these new targets and ending them on the previous ones.
Classes: Warlock, Wizard, Cleric Subclasses: Death Domain Cleric, Fiend Warlock, Necromancy Wizard Source: Original Creation
Note: "Abyssal Echoes Requiem" is a spell of deep sorrow and existential dread, reflecting the torment of lost souls. It is a powerful tool in the hands of those who tread the path of darkness or seek to manipulate the fears of their adversaries. The psychological impact of this spell makes it a formidable choice in battles of both mind and body.
