Abyssal Gaze of the Dreamweaver
Abyssal Gaze of the Dreamweaver
4th-level illusionCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (an obsidian eye encased in dream silk)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
In invoking the "Abyssal Gaze of the Dreamweaver," you tap into the deep, mysterious realms of dreams and nightmares, manifesting a powerful illusion that warps the perception of reality for your targets.
Spell Effects:
Dreamscape Creation: You create a phantasmal, nightmarish landscape within a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range. This dreamscape is visible only to creatures of your choice that you can see within range. Affected creatures must make a Wisdom saving throw; on a failed save, they become fully immersed in the dreamscape.
Nightmare Manipulation: Within this dreamscape, you have control over the environment and can shape it to produce various effects, such as illusory sounds, images, and sensations. While the environment can be as surreal or frightening as you wish, it cannot cause direct harm.
Mental Disorientation: Creatures that fail their saving throw and are immersed in the dreamscape are considered blinded and deafened to the real world as their senses are fully engaged with the illusion. They are also at disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws and ability checks for the duration.
Dreamwalker's Insight: While a creature is under the effect of the dreamscape, you can probe its mind, gaining insight into its fears and desires. This knowledge can be used for interrogation or to gain advantage on social interactions with the creature for 24 hours after the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the duration increases by 1 hour, the range of the spell increases by 30 feet, the radius of the dreamscape increases by 10 feet, and you can affect one additional creature for each slot level above 4th.
This spell enables a potent form of mental and sensory control, immersing targets in a terrifying illusion of your design. It's particularly effective for extracting information, disorienting enemies, or creating diversions, reflecting the haunting and manipulative power of the abyssal depths.
