Aegis of the Arcanist
Aegis of the Arcanist
6th-level abjurationCasting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you are required to make a saving throw against a spell or other harmful effect
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (10 GP which the spell consumes, may be raw gold of equal value instead of coins)
Duration: 1 round
When you cast this spell in response to being targeted by a spell or harmful effect that requires a saving throw, you gain the following benefits for the duration:
Automatic Evasion: If the effect forces a Dexterity saving throw to take half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Spell Save Enhancement: Add +5 to all saving throws against spells and other magical effects of 6th level or lower.
Nullification Barrier: If the triggering effect is a spell of 6th level or lower, the spell grants you advantage on the saving throw.
This spell doesn't protect against effects that target an area rather than a specific creature, such as Fireball, unless you are the direct target of the spell (e.g., a Fireball centered on you). The area effects still occur, only their effects on you are affected by the above abilities.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the level of spells against which you gain advantage on your saving throws increases by 1 for each slot level above 6th.
Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard, Warlock
