Aegis of the Divine Protector

Aegis of the Divine Protector
6th-level abjuration
Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you or a creature within 30 feet of you is targeted by an attack, spell, or harmful effect
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a small shield emblem blessed by a high priest and a drop of holy water)
Duration: 1d4+1 rounds

This spell calls upon the power of the Cleric's deity to form a bastion of divine protection on you and all allies within 30 feet. When cast each gains:

Protector's Bulwark: The target gains a +5 bonus to AC and advantage on saving throws against the triggering attack or effect.

Sacred Absorption: If the target is hit by an attack or harmful effect, the spell absorbs some of the damage. The target takes half damage from the attack, and the Cleric Spellcaster's next healing spell cast within 1 minute heals an additional amount equal to the damage absorbed.

Divine Retaliation: If the attack or effect is from a creature within 30 feet, divine light strikes back at the attacker. The attacker must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take 2d10 radiant damage and are blinded until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not blinded.

Blessing of the Protector: As part of casting this spell, you can bless one creature affected by the spell. This creature gains resistance to one damage type of your choice (except for force or psychic) until the end of your next turn.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the radius of the spell's effect increases by 10 feet, and the radiant damage from Divine Retaliation increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 6th.

  Classes: Cleric
