Arcane Disruption
3rd-level evocationCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a piece of iron and a drop of ink and a 1d4 HP blood sacrifice, all consumed at the time of spellcasting)
Duration: Instantaneous
Arcane Disruption sends a rippling wave of force to unweave the very essence of magic in your target. Choose one creature, object, or magical effect within range. For a creature or object, it must make a Constitution saving throw. A magical effect is automatically affected unless Concentration is being actively maintained, at which point they may use their Constitution saving throw or Concentration check to resist the save DC.
On a failed save: The target takes 6d6 force damage. If it is concentrating on a spell, that concentration is instantly broken. Additionally, the target is unable to cast spells or use magical abilities until the end of its next turn.
On a successful save: The target takes half damage, must make a concentration check versus the damage taken to maintain it, and its ability to cast spells or use magical abilities is unaffected.
This spell can also target a single magical effect, such as a spell or enchantment, disrupting it. For a spell of 3rd level or lower, it is automatically ended. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 11 + the spell's level. On a successful check, the spell ends.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd. Additionally, the automatic disruption of spells increases by one level for each slot level above 3rd.
