Keen Senses. The Cthonic Cat has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell or hearing.
Pack Tactics. The Cthonic Cat has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the Cthonic Cat's allies is within 5 ft. of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.
Pounce. If the Cthonic Cat moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the Cthonic Cat can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.
Running Leap. With a 10-foot running start, the lion can long jump up to 25 ft..
Amphibious. A Cthonic Cat can breathe air or water with equal ease.
Frenzied Rage. On its next turn after a Cthonic Cat takes 10 or more damage from a single attack, it has advantage on its claws attack and adds +2 to damage.
Lightless Depths. A Cthonic Cat is immune to the pressure effects of the deep ocean.
Magic Resistance. The Cthonic Cat has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Innate Spellcasting (Psionics). The Cthonic Cat’s innate spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components: At will: detect thoughts, suggestion
3/day each: vampiric touch, control water, misty step, spiderclimb
1/day each: harm, etherealness (self only)
Cthonic Cat’s Roar. With a ringing shout, the Cthonic Cat lets loose a powerful arcane area effect that amplifies it’s voice and using that it summons all Cthonic Cats and deep ones within a half mile to come to his aid. This is not a spell but a command that Cthonic Cats and deep ones heed willingly.
Hidden Horror. Cthonic Cats are horrifying to look at, their skin leathery shades of black covered in slick mucus, a mane formed from some kind of cross between leeches and sea serpents, and rows of teeth beneath grasping tentacles for lips topped by pitch black eyes make them something the eyes want to slide off of immediately. They conceal this appearance though with a perpetual seeming spell effect to make themselves look like lions the size of a german shephard. DC15 to see through the illusion. Anyone infected with Cthonic Cat Changing Fever can see through the illusion automatically.
Cthonic Cat Changing Fever. A person scratched or bitten by a Cthonic Cat becomes infected. Any time you take additional damage once infected you must succeed a Con Save or suffer one level of exhaustion. If you fail the Con Save, you hallucinate yourself growing a mane of sea-creature-like tentacles growing around and framing your face. You may make a Wisdom save to realize the hallucination is not real. If you die or take three levels of exhaustion while infected you become a deep one in service to the deep. This fever cannot be cured without lesser restoration or greater magic. If you wake up from a long rest having recovered from all levels of exhaustion you must save against the fever flairing up again every time unless you have a level of exhaustion or you cure the fever.
