Description: With a guttural chant and a flash of iridescent light, you call upon the protective power of dragons. A shimmering veil of draconic energy ripples around you, forming a translucent shield of hardened scales.
Draconic Scales: While under the effects of this spell, you gain the following benefits:
Enhanced Defense: You gain an AC bonus of +2.
Elemental Ward: Choose one damage type: fire, acid, lightning, or cold. Until the end of your next turn, you have resistance to the chosen damage type.
Dragonfire Retaliation: Whenever a creature within 5 feet of you hits you with a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to deal 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier damage of the chosen damage type back to the attacker.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the AC bonus, resistance duration, and Dragonfire Retaliation damage increase by 1 for each slot level above 1st.
