Feral Hush
Feral Hush
Cantrip abjurationCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S, M (1 HP of werecreature blood)
Duration: 1 minute
In a world where secrets lurk in the shadows and silence is a cloak for the unseen, Feral Hush is a cantrip that weaves a bubble of quietude, a pocket of stillness where even the faintest sounds are muffled. This spell creates a zone of silence, perfect for clandestine conversations or moments requiring the utmost stealth.
As you cast Feral Hush, the air in a small area around you seems to thicken, absorbing sound like a sponge. This zone of muted tranquility is imperceptible to the eye, but within its bounds, noises are swallowed by an unseen force, as if the very essence of silence blankets the space.
Effects of Feral Hush: Sound Suppression: Within a 10-foot radius of you, sound is significantly dampened, preventing eavesdropping and masking minor noises such as whispers, rustling clothes, or soft footsteps. You may as a reaction choose to draw the area in smaller than the full radius length in any direction, but cannot make it larger with this ability.
Stealth Enhancement: You and others within the area gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks to move silently or hide.
Discreet Communication: While in the zone, spoken words can only be heard naturally by those within the area, allowing for private conversations even in close quarters.
At Higher Levels. At 5th level, the Sound Suppression radius increases by 5 feet. The radius increases by another 5 feet at 11th level and 17th level.
Feral Hush is a spell of subtlety and discretion, a tool for those who move in the shadows or seek to keep their affairs hidden from prying ears. It is a reminder that in a world brimming with noise and chaos, silence can be a powerful ally.
