  In the casting of Mindscape Traverse, you invoke the subtle arts of mental voyaging, delving into the intricate and often treacherous landscape of a sentient being's subconscious. The spell reaches beyond the mundane, touching upon the dream-thread that weaves through the collective unconscious, allowing you to momentarily navigate the thoughts and dreams of others.

  Choose a creature you can see within range. You silently enter the peripheral edges of the target's mindscape, becoming a spectral observer within their subconscious realm. This ethereal excursion provides you a glimpse into their fears, desires, memories, and secrets, albeit in a cryptic and metaphorical manner. The visions are abstract and symbolic, requiring interpretation akin to deciphering a complex, surreal tapestry of dreams.

  During this time, you can attempt to influence the target's subconscious. You can implant a subtle suggestion or an idea, which the target might perceive as its own thought or a fleeting dream. This influence isn't forceful enough to control their actions but can nudge them towards a particular line of thinking or feeling. The target must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, the suggestion takes root in their mind; on a successful save, the target remains oblivious to your mental intrusion.

  Moreover, while traversing the mindscape, you can attempt to extract a piece of information or a hidden memory from the target. This requires an additional Intelligence (Investigation) check against the target’s Wisdom (Insight) check. On a successful check, you uncover a hidden truth or a forgotten memory from the depths of the target's mind.

  However, this psychic journey is not without risks. Each minute you spend within another's mindscape, you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15). On a failed save, you become momentarily lost within the target's subconscious, suffering a mental backlash that stuns you for 1 round. This represents the perils of delving too deep into the alien landscapes of another's psyche.

  At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can maintain your presence in the target’s mindscape for an additional 5 minutes for each slot level above 2nd.
