Mindweave Tapestry
3rd-level enchantmentCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M (a thread spun from spider silk and a fragment of a mirror)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Mindweave Tapestry is an enchantment spell that intricately weaves a complex and bewildering tapestry of thoughts and illusions within the mind of the target. This spell is not a simple mental intrusion; it is an artful and elaborate construction of cognitive labyrinths, a maze of thoughts and perceptions designed to ensnare and disorient the mind.
Upon casting, the caster holds the spider silk thread and mirror fragment, which begin to resonate with the spell's power. The thread seems to extend infinitely, while the mirror fragment reflects not just the physical world but the myriad possibilities of thought and consciousness. The caster then directs this convoluted web of mental energy towards the target, seeking to entangle their mind in an inescapable maze of illusions.
Effect on Target: The target is enveloped in a whirlwind of thoughts, memories, and hallucinations. Their mind is flooded with conflicting impulses, false memories, and surreal perceptions, making it challenging to distinguish reality from the intricate illusions crafted by the spell.
Mechanic: The target must make an Intelligence saving throw. On a failed save, they are afflicted with a state of mental disarray. They suffer disadvantage on Wisdom and Intelligence checks, as their ability to perceive reality and make rational decisions is severely hampered. Additionally, each turn, the target must roll a d6 to determine their actions: on a 1-2, they take no action; on a 3-4, they act normally; on a 5-6, they take a random action as determined by the Dungeon Master.
Amplified Confusion: As the caster maintains concentration, they can manipulate the tapestry, intensifying the confusion. As an action, the caster can force the target to make another Intelligence saving throw, failing which the target's next action is chosen by the caster, representing the increasing control over the target's mental faculties.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the number of targets increases by one for each slot level above 3rd.

It symbolizes the power of thought and perception, demonstrating the ability to unravel and reweave the mental constructs of others. This spell offers a unique blend of control and chaos, serving as both a tool for manipulation and a weapon of psychological warfare.
