Moonbeam Gleam
Moonbeam Gleam
Cantrip evocationCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 hour
Moonbeam Gleam, in the mystical world you are crafting, is a cantrip that captures the serene yet potent essence of moonlight. It is a spell that weaves the subtle luminescence of the lunar rays into a tangible, guiding light.
As you cast Moonbeam Gleam, your hands dance in the air, tracing patterns that mimic the celestial paths. A soft, silvery light, reminiscent of the moon's gentle caress, emanates from your fingertips. This light, though pale, pierces through darkness, offering clarity and comfort.
Effects of Moonbeam Gleam: Lunar Illumination: You create a small orb of moonlight that glows gently, illuminating a 10-foot radius. The light is soothing and does not disturb creatures sensitive to sunlight.
Guiding Light: The moonbeam can be directed to move up to 60 feet from its point of origin, following a path you choose. It can highlight paths, objects, or areas of interest.
Soothing Presence: The light from the spell has a calming effect, granting advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed for anyone within its glow's illuminating radius.
Lunar Bolt: The orb can also be used to make an spell attack against a target within range, causing it to shoot forth towards the target like a blazing silver missile, popping when it hits only to reappear where it started from in less than the blink of an eye, so it's illumination is never broken - only moving strangely for a moment. You may choose one target and the Lunar Bolt deals 1d4 radiant damage, or 2d4 radiant damage if attacking an extraplanar or undead creature. You may add your spellcasting ability modifier to the radiant damage dealt.
At Higher Levels. At 5th level, the melee attack deals an extra 1d6 force damage to the target. Damage rolls increase by 1d6 at 11th level and 17th level.
Moonbeam Gleam is more than a source of light; it's a beacon of hope and serenity, a reminder of the ever-watchful moon. It serves as a guide through the shadows, a gentle reminder of the night's beauty and mystery.
