Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (a piece of ancestral jewelry or a family heirloom)
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
Whispers of the Ancestors is a spell that connects the caster to the ancient wisdom of their lineage. Upon casting, the air around the caster grows still, and they enter a trance-like state, their senses extending beyond the physical realm to touch the echoes of the past.
In this state, the caster hears the soft, ethereal whispers of their ancestors. These whispers carry knowledge, advice, and insights passed down through generations, providing guidance and foresight. The caster can ask up to three questions, to which the ancestors will respond with cryptic yet insightful answers.
Mechanic: The caster gains advantage on three Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma checks of their choice, reflecting the ancestral guidance in various aspects of knowledge, insight, or social interaction. This advantage must be used within the spell's duration and can be distributed among different types of checks.
Enhanced Connection: For every minute spent in concentration, the caster gains deeper insight into one specific question or problem they are facing, receiving visions or symbolic images from their ancestors. This can provide clues to solving puzzles, interpreting events, or understanding complex situations, as deemed appropriate by the Dungeon Master.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the number of questions that can be asked or the number of checks with advantage increases by one for each slot level above 3rd.
