Whisperwind
Whisperwind
0-level divinationCasting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S (a feather and a piece of paper upon which you have written a secret you haven't shared with anyone else)
Duration: Instantaneous
In the realm where words transcend mere sound, Whisperwind carries your voice across the winds of fate. With this cantrip, you send a short message, no longer than twenty-five words, to a creature you can see within range. The message is delivered on a gentle gust, heard only by the intended recipient.
The spell enables a silent, one-way communication. The recipient recognizes it is a magical whisper and can discern your identity as the sender. They cannot reply via this spell.
Whisperwind can be used to convey warnings, guidance, or even words of comfort, its unseen tendrils reaching out like the fingers of a benevolent spirit. In the hands of the cunning, it serves as a tool for espionage, while to the compassionate, it becomes a bridge to offer solace or aid from afar. But for those with ill-intent this spell holds no inherently harmful ability, yet they have been known to use it to drive others mad with well performed deceptions of the voice of past losses and inner doubts delivered in the right timing with this spell.
In a world where secrets are as valuable as gold, Whisperwind is a thread weaving through the tapestry of intrigue and alliances, as ephemeral as it is powerful. Even considered to be illegal in some nations, or the property of nobility in others, such is the utility of this spell. All courier companies employ its use in some capacity, as do spies and court gossips.
