She is the owner of J3-36 The Snails Shell inn/tavern.
Berneillia is an elderly woman whose husband, Doher, had died trying to keep one of the many and frequent riots that have become a part of life in the city of Martelain from reaching their establishment about 30 years ago. They never had any kids (not for a lack of trying she will sometimes confide to some of her customers and staff). She is very polite to customers but is very hard on her employees. She runs the kitchen with an iron grasp, and makes sure that everything is always as good as is possible. She has a very melodious voice and enjoys singing, especially if there is a bard performing; or will sometimes play her own Setar and sing if things are slow in the tavern.
In addition to her native Burning Tongue Language, she is also quite fluent in the Argentum Language that is as close to a "common language" as exists within the World of Ærnth, being that it is the widely accepted language of many of the worlds merchants.
She lives in the room in the corner over the door to the street outside of the inn and tavern, with this being the only room in the place that has a window, but it only overlooks a narrow street that dead ends at her establishment's door.
