K4-18 Happalettes Leather Shop
This fairly-large, three-story stone building with slate roof serves as a leather shop. The front of the main floor is used as their “sales shop” where they meet with customers and offer items that have already been made, with Kerwean doing most of the haggling over prices. The back two-thirds or so of the building is used for tanning leathers, which they often prefer to do themselves rather than purchasing from leather tannery shops.
The second floor is also split into two parts, with the front half being primarily their workshop where the tooling and stitching of their various leather products occurs, while the back half is used for storage of leather that has already been tanned but is not yet being worked.
The third floor is the living quarters of Berville Happalettes and his wife Kerwean Happalettes, the owners of this establishment, along with three of their five children. The two oldest have moved out on their own, although one of them still works in the shop when there is need (she is married to and lives with one of the children of the Tromgate’s who own a boot and shoe shop (K4-14), while the younger three are all in their teens and work in the shop.
Floor plans for this establisment will follow when time permits to scan them in and get them uploaded.
