K4-42 Murphelyn Cheese and Creamery

Written by Adsmalley

This moderate sized stone building is unusual in that its “ground floor” is built such that customers need to walk down a few steps into it, as it is partially below ground to help keep it cool. This is because its owner, Bellatoria Murphelyn is one of the larger makers of cheeses and other dairy products in this part of the city, which last longer when kept cool. The second floor, which is only about 4 feet above ground level, but is only reachable through the interior of the building is where a portion of the milk is converted to cheese and other byproducts (such as butter and whey). The third floor is made up of Bellatria’s extended families living quarters as well as also having a couple of small apartments used by other non-relatives who assist her craft.   Bellatoria is an elderly woman who is very bitter towards the Northern Empire, due to her husband having been killed by the Northerners a couple of decades ago during one of the frequent riots. Her kids and grandkids now help operate the business.   Floor plans for this establisment will follow when time permits to scan them in and get them uploaded.   Return to Channel Cities, Martelain, or the K4 Merchant’s Square District of Martelain.
