K4-58 Gandben Rug and Tapestry Weaving

Written by Adsmalley

Aasmi Gandben is one of the many people of Martelain who talk about there being a 'rightful heir' of the Martelain Royal family still being alive but in hiding, stirring up rumors of a Martelain Rebellion.
The rug and tapestry weaving operation run by Kilmar Gandben and his wife Pauralna Gandben located in this moderately-large two-level building of stone and mortar construction with a slate roof is far from as busy as it had been in earlier generations, with Kilmar’s elderly mother, Aasmi Gandben often telling stories to customers about how the takeover of Martelain by the Northern Empire has caused all sorts of problems and has decimated the economy of the city. Only about one-third of the lower level is being used to weave rugs and tapestries anymore, with many looms now in disrepair. The upper floor, in addition to having the Gandben families living quarters for generations also has half a dozen small tenements that used to be rented to their workers, but now they are all empty, since there is an overabundance of empty buildings in the neighborhood.   Needless to say, it seems that the troops of the Northern Empire tend to frequent the area around the shop, trying to watch for signs of the rumored Martelain Rebellion.   Floor plans for this establisment will follow when time permits to scan them in and get them uploaded.   Return to Channel Cities, Martelain, or the K4 Merchant’s Square District of Martelain.
