K4-73 Mahtkar Spinning and Weaving

Written by Adsmalley

The two-story building that sits at this location is built from wood with a wood-shake roof extends back into the block about 85 feet. Being at nearly the north-west corner of the Marrtelain Market Square District, it sits almost across the street from K3-71 Poloff Cloaks & Hats in the neighboring K3 Prison District of Martelain.   It contains a complex mix of large thread spinning and cloth weaving mechanisms, with most of the spinning operations occurring on the lower level of the front half of the building. While the weaving looms are located in the back half of the building, which has a very high ceiling and being open to what would otherwise be the upper level. Much of this back and upper level has many spools of thread that are accessible and replaceable via narrow walkways that pass over the looms below, with those spools feeding those looms. While the front of the upper level serves as the living quarters for the shop’s owners, Deneval Mahtkar and his wife Gushawa Mahtkar.   Floor plans for this establisment will follow when time permits to scan them in and get them uploaded.   Return to Channel Cities, Martelain, or the K4 Merchant’s Square District of Martelain.
