Peggy Shanks

Delicate. Suave. Deadly. The only thing sharper than Peggy Shanks' mind is her knives.

Peggy Shanks grew up Marguerite Clarissa Von Suet of the wealthy Von Suet family of Hogsburg's Meadow Heights. She was the youngest of two children and a daughter of privilege. But this didn’t mean she was idle. Her hungry mind devoured most subjects, but it was the tactical nuances of business that caught her eye.

Then tragedy struck.

Just after her 20th birthday, her father, the industrialist Marcus Von Suet, was arrested for embezzlement and conspiracy to defraud. Marguerite went from riches to rags when the authorities froze the family assets. It was only later she discovered that her father's business partner, Nathaniel Nelson, framed him for control of their company, Boarco Solutions. Furious, she swore revenge and ran away to find it.

Marguerite, now ‘Peggy’, found a new home among the all-female biker gang, the Red Furies. The Furies were a small gang that stalked the Upper East side of Hogsburg. They were known for small time heists, but nothing more serious than petty porker crime. That changed when Peggy joined them.

A series of extortion jobs, combined with bloody, hard-earned knife fights, won Peggy leadership of the Red Furies and the name “Shanks”. Under her leadership, the Red Furies terrorized the Upper East Side and other parts of Hogsburg. But a chance encounter with Nathaniel Nelson brought Peggy’s life crashing down once again.

Peggy and the Furies were paying a call on the owner of the Yum Yum Joint Cafe in the Hoofgrow Gardens district. It was another of the Furies’ racketeering schemes. That was the day Nathaniel Nelson walked in for a quick cup of coffee.

Pent up rage exploded the moment she saw him. Peggy abandoned the job, and attacked Nathaniel in the cafe. Nathaniel Nelson survived the assault, while Peggy and the Furies were arrested.

Peggy Shanks is serving 14 years in Maincastle Prison for multiple counts of assault, racketeering, extortion, and blackmail. These days, rumor has it, that she’s the go-to person for the prison staff who need help with the proper amount of 'creative accounting' for their taxes.
