Skeleton Warrior
Not all skeletons are death and bones. Some are more durable and deadly.
Skeleton warriors are a degenerate mix of undead horror and fragments of the person they once were. A glimmer of intelligence shines through the burning orbs of their eye sockets. These fiends remember pieces of who they were, and what they knew.
They possess skill with their favorite weapons from when they were alive. How to wear, and even repair, certain types of armor. Some still remember the shreds of fighting techniques honed in life.
Necromancers create these cunning fiends like they would any other skeleton, but with a few extra ingredients. To make a skeleton warrior, the spell requires the weapons and armor the dead person used when they were alive.
Those types of weapons and armor hold a special connection. A magical bond that is itself a type of chaotic potential. This is key to the spell, allowing the dark magic to snare the shreds of the dead person from beyond the grave. It’s also why a necromancer must use twice the amount of magic to raise a skeleton warrior.
These happy murderous monsters are a necromancer’s delight. They are a perfect addition to their collection of servants that are greedy to carry out their master’s bloody plans. Skeleton warriors are a dangerous surprise for adventurers expecting a mindless, evil walking bag of bones.
