Dragons

Additional Information

Social Structure

Dragons tend to stay away from others of their kind. Chromatic dragons, particularly, fiercely guard their territories even from dragons of the same colour. Naturally, dragons need to congregate to reproduce. While there have been recorded alliances between Metallic dragons, only one instance of cooperation between Chromatic dragons have been recorded (see Chroma Conclave).

Domestication

No dragon has ever been domesticated. The pseudodragon - a common pet or familiar of magic wielders in Chardovia and beyond - is not directly related to greater dragons and are thus not an exception.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Nearly every part of a dragon is sought after for it's magical properties. It is said that dragon teeth - especially those belonging to a mature specimen - make the best daggers and blades (especially if they have been worked my a master). The hide and scales make extraordinarily tough armor and shields that have magic resistant properties (depending on the subspecies). Other parts, such as the glands (again, depending on subspecies), blood, tissue, claws, and eyes, are also highly sought after.

Facial characteristics

Varies from subspecies to subspecies, but all have a lizard-like appearance.

Average Intelligence

While some dragons are more primal than others (White Dragons in particular), most have above average intelligence that rivals that of the gods.
