The Riders of the Moirai
Structure
Four immortal riders exist. Each is the embodiment of a great ill. They are as follows:
- The White Rider, the Bringer of False Peace
- The Red Rider, the Bringer of War
- The Black Rider, the Bringer of Disease, and
- The Pale Rider, the Bringer of Death
Culture
Not much is known about the individual riders, but it is believed that they were once mortals who went against the Weave of Fate. Now their punishment is to execute the will of the Fates and never to find rest or reincarnation. Furthermore, due to their inter-dimensional nature, they are often compared to the Wild Hunt - however there does not seem to evidence of a connection.
Public Agenda
The Horsemen are mentioned in the Signs of the End Times. The Signs are as follows:
- The White Rider Appears
- The Red Rider Appears
- The Black Rider Appears
- The Pale Rider Appears
- The Sleeper Awakes
- The Heavens Break Open
- The Silence of the Gods
History
It is said that the Horsemen have made several appearances throughout history. While all four riding at once is seen as the end of days as prophesied by the Moirai, individual Horsemen have made their presence known at important moments in history. For example, the Red Rider was said to have ridden with the Vanguard of Lady Romey's final battle.
