Dwarf rebellion of 708

The 4th Yellow jade Emperor banned the fae from the Empire, in an internal exile to their own country in the south. The Emperor's demand was that the Light, the Sealie court should rule exclusively in violation of all Fae tradition of alternation between Sealie and Unsealie. Beyond this, though the Dwarves are nominally of the fae, the Inner Sea area had seen them split away and they resented both the ban and the violation of Dwarven domains in the south with the exile. The divided Esereti Kingdoms had been stabilized for the past 20-30 years by Imperial support of the major houses, but some of these houses had been infiltrated by Naga and other beings who desired chaos. The war arose from predictable ego and ambitions, but spiraled out and took off from misunderstanding and arrogance of various parties acting only from their own narrow cultural perspectives.


The factions
The Unsealie bridled and objected, threatening war over the breaking of the transition from the Light to the dark courts. The dwarves no longer followed the Sealie and Unsealie orientations but objected to the import of "foreigners" who were still loosely associated as fae. The rebellious Esereti factions believed the Empire would be occupied with the Fae-troubles and unable to divide it's forces between several actions at the same time. The Naga also believed this and egged on all sides stealthily and behind the scenes, following their cultural values of deception and trickery of others, and being followers of chaos and disorder which are fed by war.

The Conflict

Aftermath

The Fae region was split into domains: The Sealie in the north, the Unsealie in the South and west and the Dwarves taking the east and south east. The Dwarves are still counted as fae and share the ability to see into the mists and interact with Chimeric substance. The kingdoms of Eseret fell to the empire and the cunning Imperial model of home rule where each Noble house holds a region as their own Kingdom with only the Empire ruling over each house and each house reporting to the Empire and paying tax. The Empire then plays each house off the others rather than supporting one or a few Kings to control all the subsidiary houses and lands. .
