Tan Material in Charron | World Anvil

Tan

The Tan or Demon Blood Elixir is a wonderous formula created by the strange Yokotua Kulni Priests. Their hidden Temple in the Blasted Mountains of the Far west, is somewhere between Londi and Kanadiri. The temple is said to be built in the skull of some ancient giant monster of the Demon Age. Those who brave the journey in the wild lands with Beastmen tribes, Skinchangers, undead, Elder Gods, and other horrors and hazards. Then there are the priests - gaunt and withered things somewhat between a lizard and an elf, with silver eyes. Their hands are three fingered with a thumb. Teeth of steel like an infinite set of needles in too wide mouths.
Just what constitutes the Tan is a secret. The Priests will part with a single dose of it for Demon Age relics, kilograms of teeth, or body weights of ingots of metals. And what does it do? Upon ingesting the Tan, one is overcome by a blazing aura of power that boosts one's abilities to legendary capacity when applied. Inhuman physical strength, genius intellect, unrivaled vigor, agility and a feeling of spiritual power. The Tan will "kick", burning the user, scarring the skin, burning away hair, curling scales and nails, and melting teeth until it has burnt itself out and kills the user. This can be avoided by consuming more Tan. The "Kick" is a rapidly increasing downward spiral as the Tan is burnt in the body.

A potion sought out by adventure seekers, the desperate and those with needs extraordinary. The effects are legendary but at a terrible cost. Users are typically those who wish great achievements at any cost, who desire a brief life of great glory rather than an ordinary life. It is rarely found anywhere but the Temple of the Priests of Yokotua Kulni and only a great cost.

Mechanism: a dose gives a pool of 8 points. It is activated by willing it. Each use will boost one basic ability to d12 for a scene. When activated roll a d8: if the roll is equal to or greater than the current Tan pool, burn 1 point and reduce the Tan pool by one. Appearance will develop one aspect of severe physical burns. Intimidation rolls are at +1 due to the scarred appearance. If there are no points of Tan remaining, the user dies in a burst of flames (1d12 damage per round until dead) at the end of the scene in which it is activated. Any who touch the flaming victim will be burnt as a fire attack. Anything worn or carried will be burnt as well.

Between reading all the other entries then diving into yours, I like getting to see the stats you assign to things. It's certainly a refreshing way of reading and consuming these prompts.   That being said, a temple in a skull sounds cool af << where do I sign?

What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark?

There is no such thing as a quick and easy fix. It takes hard work or sacrifice.

Like how you use spoilers to show stats. And I think the title is interesting as well, because it suggests something blase, and the effects are anything but.
