The Sidereal Fae

The Sidereal or High Fae are ancient creatures of the far Dreaming, said to have a realm dominated by them alone. The Sidereal may be creatures of the First or Second Era of the world, or before -though over all they have no concern with ephemeral's concepts like "time" and have nothing to say on their origins. They are technically immortal, though potentially destroyable. Cold Iron has power to harm them- as with their former slaves and toys the Fae races, as does magic. It is known that they may Fade becoming faint whispy ghosts in the mists and Dreaming realm. Each Sidereal is different. The appearance are manifestations of their interests or fascinations, or crafted for effect on mortals, but can change shapes if they desire. The Sidereal are creatures of ego, and narcissism with little regard for things and beings beyond themselves. Everything not of them is insignificant, an enemy or a plaything. They are surrounded by a retinue made up of several individuals (Heart and Hand) and a larger number of servants referred to as "Host". This retinue is considered by the Sidereal part of themselves, as are any possessions. Possession extends to anything given or found but not in public use. Abandoned things still are possessed in the Sidereal view of ownership. Strangely they do not lie. The exaggerate, distort, twist or project one aspect over others. The same extends to their magic: Their Glamours are not illusions but distorted truths or portions of truths or even a true "wish' or desire about a thing. As alien creatures from outside, the Sidereal have a difficult time crossing the barrier between realms (the boundary) without aid. Once in the world or near Mists - they feed on emotional gossamer as spirits do, though they may also take in material by ingesting (or in some cases absorbing into the body from outside).

Each Sidereal is unique and a manifestation of it's own image.

Genetics and Reproduction

They can produce offspring with mortals or other creatures if they desire, but it is almost unheard of. Other Sidereal are rivals, threats or slaves.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They can and do eat or drink, mostly as entertainment and novelty or as part of their role being played. Mostly they feed on emotional energy called Gossamer by the Fae of the world.

Social Structure

Each Sidereal is an isolated predator. They have no culture or social structure aside from the individual and their host, hand, heart and slaves/ toys/ pets and may be a wild feral pack following the Sidereal alpha, or a Monarchy with the Sidereal ruler or head of a house as Fayd Pharazod the Ambassador of Incaras ( though styled as an ambassador it has no such status and counts the city as it's domain and allows no other Sidereal to stake a claim or remain for any time in the city).

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Sidereal can see across the Boundry between realms into the near Fringes of Mists and Umbra. They have some perception of the astral, but they are from outside and not part of the original formation of the world.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

The Host are associated servants that the Sidereal count as part of themselves. It is not clear if they are bred, made of Chimeric magics or are something else.

All others are threats, rivals or playthings/ slaves/ pets. Ephemerals are of no significance except as the last three.

Some of the Sidereal

The Collector. Grinning skeletal face with hollow pits where the eyes should be. The slobbering mouth looks like a leech sucker but extends hugely (upto 10 ft forward and 5 ft wide) with long needle teeth. Skeletal with bat wings and 4 spider legs. His super long fingers end in claws dripping venom that causes pain. He feasts on Fears. Drooling, slobbery speech. He wipes his mouth and wipes his hands on his bloody apron, brown and red with old blood and streaks of new.
His arm: The Red Cap: - bloodshot bulging bug eyes with dark black shadows, razor thin lips. Blunt black taloned fingers and backbending Froggy legs. He wears a red dunce cap stained with dripping blood. He peeks in windows and leaves trails of blood and strange marks on door and window frames. He makes croaking noises over baby's cribs and paws children in the night and vanishes into the Mists if seen to harvest the fear for the Collector.
His Heart: The Vore - she is dressed in black with eyes sewn shut ( if opened they reveal tiny mouths with sharp rat teeth. ), smooth skinned head is earless and hairless and noseless. Her jaws are always quivering in chewing motions. In the centers of her hands and feet (which are also hands) are small leech mouths with circles of sharp teeth. The belly button is another mouth as is the vagina, though she is usually dressed in skin tight black leather that hides these details but shows her Frazetta-esque body.
His Host: Ghosts - vapourous half real chimera. He also collects the Po Ghosts of mortals and stitches his Host Ghosts over them.  They do as The Collector says.


Sparkle: Sparkle has rainbow mane and 3 tails. The hide sparkles with stars on the silver background. It likes to change appearance to a fine horse and capture riders to drown. It transforms to a white and silver centaur to seduce Centaurs and challenge them races and physical tests. It eats the losers. Sparkle is larger than her "pretties" but is otherwise like them: silver unicorns with 1 central and 2 side horns, fangs and sharp teeth. Sparkle dances and stomps and races with the Pretties but may hunt alone.  Centuries ago she would decorate meadows with the parts of her kills.
Sparkle's Heart is a Giant of ice and stone in a Sidereal Realm of wind, ice and eternal racing, fleeing and hunting.  The Giant has no name and no others.  It chases, It catches or does not. It eats what it catches. repeat.
The hand: Sparkle's hand was The Hunter.  It was a giant silver Minotaur standing 5 meters, with a wolf head but Minotaur horns and ears. It wore a garland of flowers with the fresh heads of kills around the neck and another around the waist.  The Hunter was destroyed at the end of the Shadow Period over 2000 years ago.  The Baby hand is growing in the Mountains. It looks like a huge silver boulder about 3 meters across. If touched in holds and eats whatever touched it. The wolfen maw opens where ever the held is on it's surface.  It rolls away if threatened - but only iron, fire and magic really cause lasting harm. It regenerates in ice and cold.
The Host : Pretties. silver unicorns with 1 central and 2 side horns, fangs and sharp teeth. They dance patterns in the dirt. They are decorated with garlands and wreathes and kill anything they encounter and feast on the raw flesh. They race and dance.

The Grey Court of Fae actively hunt and seek to remove Sidereal threats from the mortal world and strengthen barriers against their former masters.
