Rosa Hernandez

Animal rights advocate (Gangrel Primogen)

(a.k.a. “Sophia” Hernandez)

Compassionate Canine Advocate

Sofia Hernandez, the spirited teenage daughter of the late Rosa Hernandez, founder of Chicago’s prominent animal welfare law firm Hernandez & Associates, has a fierce, untamed love for animals. With a freewheeling lifestyle funded by a family trust, Sofia keeps her distance from the firm’s structured world, instead channeling her energy into her unconventional advocacy.

A fierce protector of stray dogs, Sofia has a particular passion for rescuing neglected canines, though she harbors a strong, often outspoken aversion to hybrids—especially wolf-dog mixes, which she considers an unfortunate twist of nature. Despite her bias, she shares a strange connection with Jax, a wolf-hound service dog of Arnold Whitmore, a veteran, which often leaves her grappling with her feelings toward these animals.

By night, Sofia can be found roaming Chicago’s streets with her best friend and roommate, Carla Reese, as they search for stray dogs in need of help. The pair operates a low-key, unofficial kennel out of their Villa District bungalow, transforming it into a sanctuary for rescues. Though the operation is technically unlicensed, authorities tend to look the other way, leaving Sofia’s unusual home a point of intrigue for neighbors. The constant flurry of animals, late-night arrivals, and occasional howls have sparked local rumors, yet there’s no sign of anything but her unwavering commitment to her rescues.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

At nineteen, Sofia Hernandez has an uncanny, almost feral beauty, with wide, soulful eyes that give her an intense, puppy-like gaze, blending innocence with a hint of wildness. Her soft, rounded features—framed by slicked-back hair and a silver clasp—carry an unusual mix of sweetness and ferocity, capturing an untamed, animalistic essence. Though small in stature, she radiates a powerful presence, and her rugged, practical attire speaks to her life on the streets rescuing strays. There’s something raw and primal in her expression as if she’s as wild as the animals she protects, a creature bound by her instincts.
