The Prophets of Potholes (PoP) faces the public as a small dispensary with a loyal following and a grass roots commitment to the neighborhood. They shop uses portion of its proceeds to defray the costs of improving the surface streets local, for example. They also provide scholarships and host large pig roasts and other parties.   However, Ralph Chort is correct. The business is a front for a Cult who worships Mishipeshu , an ancient Ojibwe water serpent long forgotten under the depths of Lake Michigan. The Director of the PoP, Bruno Turk, communes with Mishipeshu and receives guidance in selecting new cult members who are worthy of admittance.
