Ilanthril

The Ilanthril are a subspecies of elves, characterised by their semi-nomadic lifestyle. Though they do not have a hometown, they do often return to places where they have stayed before, depending on the season and other circumstances. These recurring places, known as 'aleth' in the Ilanthril tongue, are often built upon natural shelters, such as caves or other rock formations.

Racial Features

Ilanthril elves are quite similar to their elven relatives. They are generally a bit shorter in stature, with slightly longer ears. Their facial features tend to be more rounded, and their skin has a slight golden glow to it. Black hair is uncommon, unlike in other elves; most Ilanthril have blonde, brown or red hair. Just like other elves, Ilanthril are unable to grow facial hair.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The Ilanthril speak a dialect of Elvish. Though most Ilanthril can understand the common Elvish tongue, most other Elves have difficulty understanding the more rough Ilanthril dialect.

Shared customary codes and values

Family, friends, and nature are the the pillars of Ilanthril tribes. They place little value on personal possessions and only take what they need.

Common Dress code

Contrary to their other Elvish relatives, the Ilanthril wear sturdy, pragmatic clothing with little to few embellishments.
