Manticore
Manticores are large mammals, with human-like faces, the body of a lion, and a tail of venomous spines similar to porcupine quills. There are some accounts that the spines can be shot like arrows, thus making the manticore a lethal predator. It devours its prey whole, using its triple rows of teeth, leaving no traces of its victims (including bones) behind. The word Manticore means Man-Eater, because, although it preys upon other animals, it kills and devours a greater number of human beings. It fights with both its claws and stings, which grow again after they have been discharged.
