Traveller's Inn
The Traveller's Hotel was built in 1913 after it was moved brick-by-brick via rail from the Extension Mines in South Nanaimo, outside the range of the Blacklight Event. Since it was opened, the Traveller's Hotel, called "The Trav" by locals, has operated as a public house and hotel up until 2007, when the hotel's brick facade started to fade and the building was closed down due to safety. The building has been slowly detiorating since.
Immediately after the Blacklight, with ownership of the property passing over to the Ladysmith Resources Centre Association, the building is being restored and utilized as a temporary space for the fledgling Ladysmith Magic Society.

Architecture
The building is a pristine example of Edwardian architecture from the articulated brick facade, flat roof, roof-level signage and the simple swastika brick designs on the exterior. At the time of construction, the swastika maintained connotations of peace and prosperity, not gaining it negative and/or hostile symbolism until the Nazi appropriation of the symbol in the years before the second World War.
