The Exclusion

As we know,

The Exclusion took place over a few decades, and was to be met with much resistance. Humanity's goal was to eradicate everything other than their own species. They feared that supernatural beings would reach for positions in their own governments and positions of power. Understandably, supernatural beings recoiled in outrage, proclaiming the humans had no right to expel an entire group of species. The situation inevitably turned violent. However, humans discovered a way to defend themselves against the supernatural with the help of an undisclosed military precinct. It was decided that if they would not leave, they would be forced to.   During this time, small and impoverished towns suffered greatly to this conflict. Anything that didn't fit the description of "human" was expelled immediately, and most sought refuge in these small towns. They were inevitably left to reside in the outskirts of the countries, far from civilization. Beings would find what security they could in abandoned and destroyed homes that the humans left behind. These places evolved into destitution. Barren lands inhabited by bitter and hostile creatures. These areas stretch far across the globe and have been given the title of the Warren.   Meanwhile, whatever areas that were not stricken with violence and destruction is where humans chose to live in "normality" and "civility." Needless to say, these areas are swarmed by the upper-class. Taking new homes that were safeguarded from the threats of the Warren required a hefty bank account... or the means to exploit the means to acquire a place. This place goes by many names. Formally, it is referred to as the Verus or the Verus Territories. Although many beings, including humans, have found less savory things to call it.   As the world lays now, it is segregated and brimming with tensions from all sides. It is unclear whether humanity will attempt to more thoroughly eradicate the supernatural. It is unclear whether the beings that roam the Warren seek revenge. Murmurs reach both sides of the conflict. There are lingering questions as to why the deities and those who promised to bring aid to the world in times of war have not been seen. Perhaps this will now awaken them. Perhaps more conflicts will arise sooner than expected.
