Bog Gater
A bog gater is a semi-aquatic reptile with rows of short spikes on its tough hide. The bog gater has a flat snout with raised nostrils and eyes. It can float near the surface of a bog or river and keep its eyes and nose above water to watch for prey. Up to twice as long as an eyan is tall, bog gaters can reach up to 14 feet in length.
Bog gaters eat bogfish, spiney whiskerfish, small semi-aquatic mammals and reptiles, small birds, and anything else fool enough to swim in their waters. Bog gater adults are massive and their only predator is the eyan people, who harvest the meat for jerky and the hides for durable goods. Crosslanders avoid boggy territory and croakin keep to the trees to avoid being eaten.
