Does it actually turn people to stone or do they just look like that?

May 3, 2020 14:51

They look like stone and there skin turns hard it is hard to tell if they are actually stone or not .

I have an Idea for. a new Plague, it's called "occlusis oculis homicidam donari" or Occulus disease for short, it is sometimes called the weeping Vampire or Bleeding Anja, it has no known vectors but it is suspected that it is carried by people touching their eyes after shaking hands or having someone sneeze on them. once someone is infected they will start to go blind, and later they will experience facial paralisis. in the endgame of the disease their eyes will start to bleed excessively and make them look as if they are crying blood, there is no known cure but it has a low contagion rate. however it also has a very high kill rate making it hard to identify,

here's another Idea, its called Kauderwelsch and it is spread by hearing the words of someone infected. it does not kill its victim but it causes them to speak in foreign languages of increasingly exotic locations until they eventually devolve into gibberish, it seems to have no effect on the victims mind as they are capable of using Pantomime to communicate. it is, however, highly contagious which allows it to take over enter communities and turn them into asylums of utter utter nonesence.

sounds interesting! Will think about it.

I have a question, is there a general discussion page for chorius?

May 22, 2020 20:07

There isnt a general discussion page but I can make on if people wanted to.

since this seems to be were people are discussing plagues, and I know a new plague is always welcome, I have an idea, it's called Dai Uzi, it is spread by touch, it has no known cure and makes the subjects skin twist into tight knots, this limits the subjects blood flow causing them to eventually suffocate. although it does not directly warp the mind it causes much pain especially to the claustrophobic and often makes its victims cut their skin to escape the pain, this is not recommended as it spreads the bacteria, very few have recovered but those who have may donate a small portion of their blood to vaccinate others, however, the high death rate of this disease makes such diners rare.

another one is called heliophobia, there are no symptoms whatsoever save for a newfound irrational fear of broad daylight, and if an infected individual does enter the sun then their skin will start to burn and flake off, going back into the shade will not ease the pain, at this point there is no hope, the only way to cure it is to wait it out, but there is no way to know when it's started or when it's stopped, it is the largest known bacterium as some specimens reach 1/8 inch length the long way and 1/12 inch the short way. this bacteria is only found in the skin and since it can only be seen with the naked eye as putting it under a microscope slide destroys it, it is rare that one is found on a living creature. the strange thing about heliophobia bacterium is that they can move on their own, they are hard to spot with the naked eye but can crawl along the ground with their powerful cilia, it is rare that an individual spots them before they burrow under their hosts skin, scientists are sure that they are truly bacteria and that they are not merely parasites. the only way to guard against infection is by not touching the ground, Heliophobia bactiria can crawl but not climb, also having steps that lead up to your residence is a great different as they cannot ascent stairs.

another one is ventrem cruciatu, it is known for causing intense stomach pain, it can't kill people but it is never lethal but is always permenent, often it drives it's victims to suicide. it is spread by touching animal fecies.

I have an idea for a plague, it's called doença da lua it is unknown what it's vectors are but folklore says that it only afflicts people who have never heard of it, it causes a feeling of white hot wires running through the patients veins. this is caused by the bactiria cutting at blood vessal walls with their razer sharp cillia. in the later stages the victum suffers internal bleeding. the disease is named for the fact that the infection does not spread while exposed to moonlight. other than that their is no known treatment.

blou bloed is the a deadly disease that can be cured with even the weakest antibiotic. but it remains undetected for 3 months before manifesting as the victim vomiting blue fluid, when this happens it kills the victim by liquifying their organs, it is very effective at draining antibiotic reserves because once a single person manifests, all locals must be given antibiotics, furthermore, a new variety that is immune to penicillin has developed meaning that the most accessable antibiotic can't be used against it, thankfully only 1 out of 7 cases are this mutant form of virus meaning that penicillin can be used most of the time. it is only found in Africa and is spread by mosquito's

In hindsight heliophobia seems kinda dumb.

Jun 26, 2020 17:06

you should probably create an article just for the discussion of new plagues.
