Prachtar: A Closer Look
No one really hides secrets in this town, not that they're allowed to anyway.
Demographics
The population of Prachtar is a mix of miners, foragers, farmers, monster hunters for the dark season, and a couple of alchemists driven by the wild vankas that is sometimes found. The majority of the town however consists of miners brought out into the wilds for a feverish iron rush.
Government
The government in this town is hardly existent. Some say the town might be privatized soon, but for the moment the town acts under a direct democracy.
Defences
The town is defended by The Adventurer's Guild of the Evermore Cliffs, a private organization of city watchers and hunters who have sworn to protect the city using sword and sometimes sorcery provided by the Vankas Society. The Town is surrounded by a wall made of enchanted iron carved into spikes and gates to act as a barrier between the town and the monsters that lie outside. The enchanted protection helps protect the town from the cataclysmic dark season, else there would be no town to protect after all.
Industry & Trade
The town is mainly a frontier town, however on most months the major export is iron while the major import is wood. On bright blue months however the major export is water where on other months of the bright season the export may also change from spices to medicinal foods to even ice under a purple sun.
Infrastructure
One massive enchanted fence surrounds the town, as well as surrounding the only road to the river which doubles as a dam under the blue suns.
Guilds and Factions
The following factions exist within Prachtar
- The Miner's Union
- The Guild of Evermore Cliffs
- The Vankas Society
History
The town was founded by Prachtar, the terror of the west, as he rode fearlessly on and on again into the dark seasons just to make his trade post in the middle of nowhere become a dream town away from what he saw as the siphoning empires. 50 years later, in the year 500 RS, the town is the way it is today.
Architecture
Most of the buildings are made by waiting for the dark red sun and using the hellish fire to cast the houses out of solid iron. The walls look like tin and scrap metal but are in fact a lot stronger than they seem. The dark red sun however sometimes melts these houses on occasion if they're not well protected from the failure of The Vankas Society.
