Session 24 – Lost City: Island of Death Part 2
General Summary
Having gone for awhile battling ghosts that apparently respawn after a time, Gunkyn steps into the center of the pentagram once again and begins to sing and dance.
You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out
You put your right foot in and shake it all about
You do the Hokie Pokie and turn yourself around…
As soon as he sings the word “around”, the one remaining ghost screams in agonizing pain and disperses. The pentagram flashes and disappears and suddenly all is quiet.
Once they realize the ghosts are finally, and truly gone they sit and rest for an hour to regain their bearings and strength before moving on.
Moving from the center circle of stones to the southeastern mausoleum, they encounter a squad of three dread warriors guarding the entrance. The battle is back and forth at first, with neither side able to gain advantage but Feebs and Sylbella soon realize that spells that prey on the creatures’ intelligence and lack of constitution prove to take more of a toll on them.
Eventually the dread warriors are defeated, and they turn toward gaining entrance to the tomb. At first the heavy stone door seems immovable until Feebs is able to locate a mechanical lever that releases it. Inside they find a short series of hallways leading past a bronze statue of Madarua to a small antechamber containing a casket.
Before Feebs can stop her, Sylbella opens it revealing that is occupied by a vampire!
