Session 28 – Lost City: Lower Pyramid, Part 2
General Summary
Finishing off the Zargonite Cultists and the creature that one of them transformed into, known as a gibbering mouther, the crew ventures to the door to the north where they find a bunkhouse full of bunkbeds and chests. The beds are all sticky and freckled with mold. Beneath four of them hang throbbing cocoons of stringy slime.
Sylbella pokes one of the cocoons causing it to burst open into a mass of squirming, barbed tentacles. As they dispatch the first swarm, the other cocoons also burst open and being squirming across the room toward them.
Thankfully, the prove to be less formable than they first appear, and while Sylbella’s wolf, Bucky, is wounded the tentacles are quickly dealt with. Searching the chests they find a couple more golden Zargon cult masks and a Scroll containing the spell Evard’s Black Tentacles.
Going back to the south, they enter a cave where smooth, wet tissue coats the walls. Cankerous lumps protrude from the flesh, dribbling caustic fluid into a sickly-hued pool of gastric juices. A rough stone pathway cuts through the bile.
In the cave, six dwarves with white hair and gray skin use severely corroded pickaxes to excavate an inflamed section of the wall. The chamber gurgles in agitation.
