Civil war within the Empire

Era beginning/end

The inevitable fall of the Empire lasted for 9 years.

The empire was tyrannically ruled by an emperor and his ancestors. The Empire covered most of the known world and technology and magic was abundant. But only the wealthy and the powerful could make use of it. Most of the citizens in the empire could barely manage to hold on to their lifes. This caused for great dissatisfaction with the empire, until the people could take no more. this was the beginning of the revolution. With how large the group of dissatisfied people were, the revolution grew exponentially. until they had an army even bigger than the empire. The Empire with its advanced magic and weaponry did not fear these revolutionist and intended to wipe them out quickly.   But that was not so easy as the revolutionists could easily disquise themselves as farmers, commoners or even as soldiers. The revolutionist used this trickery to take out most of empire's army. with what was left of the army a drawn out battle would start all over the Empire, lasting for 8 years. The revolutionists had driven the army back all the way to the emperor's castle. This is where they would defeat the emperor.   But the Revolutionists didn't plan for what happenned next. After word spread of the emperor's defeat, chaos ensued. in the great collapse as it was called many of the Empire's buildings, treasures and secrets were lost.
