Poison
Wolfsbane is mainly used in the fabrication of a poten poison of the same name. This poison, which is made with the roots of the plant, is strong enough to kill humans, as well as both types of mages. However, mages, especialy soulmages, are particulary resistant to most of the poison's effects.Effects on the body:
The effects of the poison are universal, regardless of who it is ingested by, but their intensity may vary per individual. Symptoms of wolfbane poisoning includea irregular heart beats, abdominal pain, diarrhea, shortness of breath, tingling of the extremeties and heavy fatigue. Depending on the quality of the poison, it may take only a few minutes to an hour after ingestion for symptoms to appear. Ingesting no more than a few drops of the plant's poisonous extract is enough to induce coma and even death in humans and Elemental Mages.
Resistance:
As for Soulbound Mages, they are particulary resistant to the poison, although a big enough dose can also kill them. However, it is known that even with a lethal dose, the poison acts slower in their bodies, compared to others, which prolongs their suffering.
Magic Suppression:
A particulary frightening symptom of Wolfsbane poisoning for Soulbound Mages is that it supresses Mage's ability to use magic. While this doesn't directly affect Elemental Mages. However, for the Soulmages, they are usualy able to supress the poison's effect with their healing ability. This doesn't work against wolfsbane as this particular poison supresses their healing powers, making it much deadlier than before. Scholars aren't sure why Wolfsbane poison acts like this in the body.

Geography
The flower originates at the foothills of the Kheros Mountain, in eastern Enask. However, by the start of the Second Age, it was brought across the sea, to Arros, where it quickly spread to much of the the central regions of the Continent, stopping only at the massive Alvars mountains. Notably, it doesn't grow in Gysia past the Tisran hills, or in much of southern Arros along the illynian sea, presumaly because of the unsuitable climate, which is hotter and dryer there. Similary, the flower doesn't grow in Rumalia, since it is much too cold for it.

Conservation Status
Many alchemists grow the plant within their chemistry lab, as while the plant's territorial extent is large. it doesn't grow in large groups, and many communities actively burn them on sight, making them rare to see in the wild.
