Ximal: Ak'aaran God of the Underworld

Ximal, the mysterious god of the Ak'aaran Underworld, is one of the most powerful entity in the Ak'aaran pantheon of gods, contained within Ashoranism.

Divine Domains

Ximal rules over the so called underworld, known in Ashoranism as the Land of Sorrows, which can be translated in the local language as Ximayakan. He is also the master of death and souls, as upon death, the souls of the deceased travel to Ximayakan. However, if the person died while devoid of regrets, anger or any other type of sorrow, then they are rejected back to the surface and stay there for a year, before moving on into the afterlife. Ximal is also said to have dominion over the night and darkness in general.

Artifacts

Shadestone are said to contain a fraction of Ximal's powers. Some myths say that the ground surface of Ximayakan, where Ximal resides, is made of shadestone. Before going extinct, Shadowmage in the region were said to be able to communicate with Ximal and that they received their powers from him.

Holidays

On the 10th Veosian full moon, which always land in mid-october, the Ak'aaran gather and celebrate the memory of their dead relative. They pray to both Itzaca, creator god of the sky, and Ximal for the safe passage of their relative's soul from the underworld to the sky.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

According to the myths, the final goal of Ximal is to collect enough "troubled souls" to grow his demon army, which he will use to escape Ximayakan and invade the surface world and the sky. Troubled souls are souls of recently deceased people who either died violently or did so with many regrets or while being angry. After a while in the Land of Sorrow, they grow into demons at the service of Ximal. Once he reaches the sky, the myths diverge on his intentions. Either Ximal simply wants to join his godly brethens or he wants to kill them all and rule the world in their place.
