While a lawyer is a person who practices law, one who conducts lawsuits for clients or advises clients of their legal rights and obligations. A barrister is a legal practitioner whose main function is to practice advocacy in court. Barristers spend their working hours in chambers where they prepare their cases.

Qualifications

In the Kingdom of Falcrest, the Confederation of Fieren, and the Kingdom of Ameo, a barrister must be recognized and certified as a practitioner of law by the Church of Kaladis. In the Kingdom of Nuaira, a barrister is appointed by the Crown and its agents. Barristers do not exist in the Magocracy of Ezir.
