Blood Stag
Blood Stags are known to roam the deep and lush forests of the world. Their creation is subject to speculation, but the prevailing theory is that their voracious thirst for humanoid blood (elven in particular) is the result of a curse that plagues their kind.
An unknown vampire lord, in an attempt to strengthen its armies, experimented on herds of wild animals. In these experiments, the genetic makeup of the animal was infused with dark magics. The experiments were not as successful as the vampire had hoped, and the beasts were abandoned. Those that survived passed on the dark magic that infused their being.

Growth Rate & Stages
Blood Stags are naturally stillborn to mundane deer, descendants of the original experiments that have interbred with traditional populations of animals. Within an hour, they stand and move, similar to their living kin. Within five hours, they begin to hunger for living blood.

Social Structure
Blood Stags are lonely specimens, due to their unrelenting desire for blood. Most Blood Stags are responsible for killing the herd into which they are born, from there seeking out any other living creature to devour, driven by the curse to seek out humanoid flesh.
