Memnir Obsidian

Memnir Obsidian is a naturally-occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. Like mundane obsidian, memnir obsidian is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. It is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows found in the vicinity of ley line conjunctions, where the chemical composition (high silica content) causes a high viscosity which, upon rapid cooling, results in a natural glass forming from the lava. The infusion of magical energy through the ley line conjunctions results in the stone absorbing magical energy. Memnir Obsidian is hard, brittle, and amorphous; it therefore fractures with very sharp edges but can be worked through diligent labor akin to glassblowing to shape it as desired.
